AIKS condoles passing of Autar Krishen Rehbar



Jammu, July 31 (Scoop News)-Autar Krishen Rehbar, Sahitya Akademi Award winner for Kashmiri in the year 2017, for his work, ’Yeli Parda woth’. Born in Srinagar (Kashmir) on August 16, 1934, left for his last journey on 30 July 2020. He has written numerous books in the form of short stories and plays. His short stories have been translated into Hindi, English and other Indian languages.

He received J&K Government Cultural Academy Award, Sadiq Memorial Award and Khillat-e- Kashmir for his contribution to the Kashmiri language and literature.

He retired as Producer at Radio Kashmir, Srinagar. He authored four plays for Radio. Talash and Bi chus tsur were directed by Makhan Lal Saraf. Other two, Heryish and Badshah were staged by Kashmiri theatre groups and produced as radio dramas.

Passing of Autar Krishen Rehbar, literary circles have lost a scholarly critic of Kashmiri language. In the year 2019, he was the Chief Guest of to celebrate the International Mother Tongue Day, held by AIKS.
