134 youth from Jammu and Kashmir join Indian Army
Srinagar, March 04, (Scoop News)- A total of 134 recruits from the jammu and Kashmir state were inducted into the Indian Army’s Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAK LI) Regiment at an impressive passing out parade today.



Defence spokesperson said that the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry Regimental Centre, showcased its latest batch of 134 passing out recruits from the State of J&K. Recruit Course Serial number 108, on having completed one year of strenuous training was demonstrated at a glittering parade at the Bana Singh Parade Ground of JAK LI RC. The Passing Out Parade, depicting graduation of a Recruit and his transformation into a Young Soldier, was reviewed by Maj Gen DVS RANA, Chief of Staff, HQ Madhya Bharat Area. Parade was attended by over 1500 parents and relatives of the young soldiers along with a number of civil and military dignitaries.

He said the dauntless young soldiers of the Regiment hailing from all regions and religions, marching in precise unison with a singular aim of devoting their lives in service of the nation, singing their Regimental Song ‘Balidanam Veer Lakshnam’, inspired all as their voice echoed in the Kashmir Valley. Their Ceremonial ardour and salute to the Tri-Colour with National Anthem playing inspired patriotic vigour in all present.

Major General Rana congratulated the Young Soldiers for their immaculate Parade and impressed upon selfless service towards the Nation. He encouraged more and more youth from J&K to come forward and join the Security Forces. He also highlighted the vital role played by their parents in motivating their wards to join this noble profession.

The young soldiers who distinguished themselves in varied facets of training were also felicitated by General Rana. Recruit Ajay Singh Jamwal of Udhampur district received the Sher-e-Kashmir Sword of Honour & Triveni Singh Medal for being adjudged ‘Over all Best Rect’ and Recruit Tawseef Ahmad of Anantnag district bagged the Chewang Rinchen Medal for being ‘Best in Firing’.
In the end, proud parents and relatives pipped the soldiers ready to join their battalions and to tread the immortal path of glory, living up to the expectations and the best traditions of the Army. As a mark of respect, gratitude & recognition of contribution made by the parents of these young soldiers, they were also presented with the Gaurav Padaks instituted by the Army.
