Chief Secretary Ashish Kundra begins Two-Day Zanskar visit to review developmental works


Zanskar, October 03 (Scoop News)-Chief Secretary, UT Ladakh, Ashish Kundra, arrived in Zanskar today on a two-day visit to review ongoing developmental works and assess issues related to local governance, infrastructure and public welfare in the region.

Upon his arrival at the Civil Helipad, Zanskar, the Chief Secretary was received by SP Zanskar Rigzin Sangdup, SDM Zanskar Jasif Amin, Councillor and State General Secretary, BJP, Stanzin Lakpa, along with other senior officers.

The Chief Secretary began his visit with a visit to Kanika Stupa and Sani Monastery, where he interacted with monks, village representatives, community leaders and members of the public. During the interaction, various issues concerning the monastery and surrounding villages were brought to his notice.

The delegations, led by the Head of the Monastery and the Nambardar, raised issues including renovation of Sani Palace in the traditional architectural style, construction of Naropa Photang, creation of a separate Panchayat Halqa, provision of an ATM facility at Sani, and other developmental concerns.

Later, the Chief Secretary visited Dzongkul Monastery and interacted with monks and delegations from adjoining villages. The issues raised included construction of a protective compound wall, improvement of network connectivity and provision of basic public convenience facilities. The Nambardar of Atting village also highlighted the need for operationalisation of the BSNL 4G tower and expeditious completion of the Dzongkhul Hydro Projects being executed under KREDA.

Chief Secretary Ashish Kundra gave a patient hearing to the delegations and assured them that the issues and genuine demands raised during the interactions would be examined thoroughly for appropriate action.

As part of the visit, the Chief Secretary also visited the Omasila Yak Cheese Production Centre and reviewed the functioning of the Zanskar Milk & Dairy Cooperative Society.

The Chief Secretary was accompanied by SP Zanskar Rigzin Sangdup, SDM Zanskar Jasif Amin, Councillor and State General Secretary, BJP, Stanzin Lakpa, President ZBA, President Women Association, District President BJP Zanskar, and other sub-divisional and sectoral officers.
