Jammu, September 21 (Scoop News)- Jammu and Kashmir Youth National Conference Provincial President Sardar Tejinder Pal Singh Aman said that the Omar Abdullah-led Government is committed to focusing on employment opportunities for unemployed youth through government jobs, self-employment schemes and employment-oriented initiatives.
Addressing a meeting at Datta Talab in District Samba, organised by Rahul Attri Vice President District Samba YNC, National Conference in the presence of Rajni Devi Working President Women Wing Jammu, Sudagar Gupta District President Samba, Hameed Choudhary Central Zone President YNC, Sushma Devi District President Samba Women Wing, Karim Choudhary Vice President District Samba. Sardar Tejinder Pal Singh urged the youth to concentrate on their studies, education and sports. He said that the youth are the backbone of Jammu and Kashmir and their energy and talent must be channelled towards constructive activities. He also expressed concern over drug abuse among young people, saying that unemployment and lack of opportunities can contribute to vulnerability among some sections of youth. He appealed to young people to stay away from drugs and other harmful activities and make education, sports and professional development their priorities.
The youth highlighted that local employment opportunities in the industrial areas of Samba have become a major concern. They demanded effective measures to ensure that educated and skilled local youth receive adequate opportunities in industries operating in the district. They urged the Government to review the existing employment situation and introduce appropriate measures to protect and expand opportunities for local youth in industrial areas. The youth also referred to the tenure of the previous government headed by Dr. Farooq Abdullah, claiming that local youth in Samba had received around 80 percent of employment opportunities in industrial areas during that period. The local youth said that after the constitutional and administrative changes made in 2019 and the subsequent reorganisation of Jammu and Kashmir as a Union Territory, they have faced concerns regarding their share of employment opportunities in industrial establishments.
Tejinder assured the local youth that their concerns regarding employment opportunities in the industrial areas of District Samba would be taken up with the concerned minister. He urged the District President Samba YNC to finalise party committees at the district, block, ward and Panchayat levels of YNC at the earliest.
Addressing the meeting Nitish Gowsami Provincial Vice President YNC, Zamir Qureshi, Rajeshwar Singh Youth leaders and Jaseen Malik District President Samba, Rahul Attri Vice President District Samba YNC. They urged the youth to strengthen the party organisation at the grassroots level and actively connect with people in every Wards and Panchayats. They called upon the youth workers to highlight the achievements and initiatives of the Omar Abdullah-led Government and ensure that information about government programmes and development measures reaches people at the ward and Panchayat levels.
