Kho-Kho fever grips Sopore as 10 Districts Vie for Provincial Honours
Baramulla, September 20 (Scoop News)- The Department of Youth Services & Sports today commenced the three-week Inter-District Provincial-Level Kho-Kho Competition for All Age Groups (Boys & Girls) at HSS Doabgah, sopore, with participation of more than 700 young athletes from 10 districts of Kashmir Province.

The championship is being held under the overall supervision of Director General, Youth Services & Sports, J&K, Anuradha Gupta, and organised by the Joint Director, Youth Services & Sports, Kashmir Province, with District Baramulla as the host.

The opening phase began with the Under-17 Girls category, featuring around 120 players from all 10 districts. The inaugural proceedings were marked by District Youth Services & Sports Officer, Baramulla, Mushtaq Ahmad Pampori, in the presence of the Vice Principal, HSS Doabgah, officials, coaches, team managers and participating players.

Addressing the gathering, DYSSO Baramulla encouraged the players to participate with confidence, discipline and true sporting spirit. He also appreciated HSS Doabgah, civil society members and the Auqaf Committee Doabgah for their cooperation in facilitating the championship.

In the day's matches, Baramulla defeated Anantnag by one inning and 8 points, while Bandipora defeated Kulgam by one inning and 1 point. The Under-17 Girls competition will continue for three days, followed by competitions in other age groups over the coming weeks.
