MSME-DNC Leh Organises Awareness Programme on Branding & Marketing
for PM Vishwakarma Scheme Beneficiaries

Leh, September 16 (Scoop News)-The MSME Development & Nucleus Cell (MSME-DNC), Leh, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, in collaboration with SLPMU, PM Vishwakarma, organised a one-day Awareness Programme on Branding & Marketing for PM Vishwakarma Scheme Beneficiaries at the Conference Hall, LAHDC, Leh. The programme was attended by around 120 PM Vishwakarma beneficiaries and traditional artisans.

The programme was organised with the objective of creating awareness among PM Vishwakarma beneficiaries and traditional artisans about branding and marketing opportunities, various schemes of the Ministry of MSME, credit facilitation, digital payment solutions, QR code generation, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the use of emerging technologies for strengthening their livelihoods and enterprises.

The programme commenced with a welcome address and an overview of the objectives of the programme delivered by Amit Kumar Tamaria, Joint Director, MSME-DFO, Jammu. The Chief Guest, Sonam Nurboo, Director, Industries & Commerce Department, Ladakh, addressed the participants and highlighted the importance of supporting traditional artisans, strengthening their enterprises and promoting their products through modern marketing and digital platforms. Sh. Imtisaal Rasool, Under Secretary, Industries & Commerce Department, also addressed the gathering. The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Vinu Jee Koul, Assistant Director, MSME-DFO, Jammu.

During the technical sessions, Aman Singh, Assistant Director, MSME-DFO, Jammu, delivered a presentation on the PM Vishwakarma Scheme and various schemes of the Ministry of MSME. Mohd Zakaria, Functional Manager, DIC Leh, provided an overview of the Ladakh Industrial and Transport Policy and the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP).

A dedicated session on Branding & Marketing for Traditional Artisans was conducted by Dr. Diwakar Singh, In-charge, EDII Ladakh, covering aspects related to product identity, packaging, market positioning, promotion and market access.

The participants were also sensitised about India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) schemes and QR code generation through a session conducted by Jagadeesh M, India Post Payments Bank. During the session, India Post Payments Bank officials also facilitated the issuance of five merchant stickers to participating artisans to support digital payment acceptance at their establishments. Nitish Mansotra, SBI, delivered a presentation on banking schemes and credit facilitation, covering avenues available to artisans and entrepreneurs for accessing institutional credit.

A session on Artificial Intelligence for Traditional Artisans was conducted by Rigzin Wangdus, Consultant, SLPMU, PM Vishwakarma, highlighting the relevance of emerging digital technologies and AI tools in product promotion, marketing, business development and other business activities.

The awareness programme provided 120 PM Vishwakarma beneficiaries and traditional artisans with an opportunity to gain practical insights into branding and marketing, Government schemes, industrial policy, financial and credit facilities, digital payment mechanisms and emerging technologies. The programme reaffirmed the collaborative efforts of MSME-DNC Leh and SLPMU, PM Vishwakarma towards enhancing awareness and capacity building among traditional artisans and supporting them in accessing various institutional support mechanisms and wider market opportunities.i
