| Police in Baramulla Organises Awareness Programmes on Drugs | | Srinagar, September 08 (Scoop News)-As part of its continued efforts to strengthen community engagement and promote awareness among the younger generation, Police in Baramulla organised awareness programmes at Govt. Model Higher Secondary School, Boniyar and Govt. Higher Secondary School, Chandoosa.
At Boniyar, an awareness programme was conducted by Police Station Boniyar under the overall supervision and directions of SSP Baramulla Shri Gurinderpal Singh-IPS, Addl. SP Baramulla and SDPO Uri. Students were sensitised about the harmful effects of drug abuse, cyber-crime and the importance of responsible internet usage. The programme also focused on online safety, cyber security and awareness regarding recent changes in criminal laws.
Similarly, Police Station Chandoosa organised a Drug Awareness Debate Programme at Govt. Higher Secondary School, Chandoosa under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. Students actively participated in the debate and were sensitised about the devastating impact of drug abuse on individuals, families and society. They were encouraged to stay away from drugs and channel their energy towards sports, healthy activities, education and constructive career-building pursuits.
As a gesture of encouragement, prizes and appreciation certificates were distributed among the participating students, recognising their active participation and efforts in spreading awareness against drug abuse.
Police reiterated that sustained awareness and meaningful engagement with students are essential for building a drug-free, cyber-safe and law-aware society. Police appealed to students to remain vigilant, make responsible choices and become positive ambassadors of a safer and healthier society.
