| IUST Organises Orientation Programme for Newly Appointed Non-Teaching Staff | | Awantipora, , September 03 (Scoop News)-The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) today commenced a two-day Orientation Programme for newly appointed non-teaching staff, organised by the Centre for Good Governance and Policy Analysis (CGG&PA) at Campus I, Awantipora. The programme aims to familiarise the newly recruited staff with administrative procedures, institutional systems, professional conduct, and effective workplace practices.
The inaugural session of the programme was presided over by Prof. Shamim Ahmad Shah, Registrar, IUST, as the Chief Guest, who highlighted the important role of non-teaching staff, stressing professionalism, accountability, adaptability, and ownership of responsibilities. Welcoming the participants and the experts, Dr. G.N. Itoo, Director, CGG&PA, emphasised coordination, professionalism, and ethical conduct for the effective functioning of the University.
Dr. Abid Hussain Shalla, Dean Research, IUST, was the Guest of Honour and highlighted the significance of the programme in enhancing professional capabilities and institutional efficiency.
A series of technical sessions covered key aspects of administration and institutional functioning. Mr. Waseem Raja, JKAS, Joint Director, Tourism, spoke on administrative practices, focusing on coordination, teamwork, and communication. Mr. Qazi Irfan Rasool, JKAS, RTO Kashmir, delivered a session on Good Governance to Smart Governance, covering digital governance, e-Office, ERP/OEMS, RTI, cyber security, and data privacy.
Mr. Mohd. Yaqoob, Retired Deputy Secretary, conducted a session on Secretarial Practices, focusing on file management, case processing, interpretation of rules, note preparation, and record maintenance.
