| Review Meeting on Pashmina Development Projects Held at Bikaner | |
Bikaner, September 02 (Scoop News)-A review meeting on the ongoing projects under the Pashmina Development Programme was held under the chairmanship of the Joint Secretary (Fibre), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, on September 1, 2026, at Bikaner.
The meeting reviewed the ongoing projects under the Pashmina Development Programme and discussed the finalisation of a new scheme for the development of Pashmina fibre in Ladakh during the upcoming Plan period.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Iftikhar Hussain, Director, Sheep Husbandry Department, UT Ladakh; Mr. G.S. Batti, Executive Director, Central Wool Development Board (CWDB), Jodhpur; Director, Wool Research Association (WRA); and other officials of the Central Wool Development Board.
During the meeting, various components proposed under the new scheme were discussed in detail and finalised for implementation under the Wool Sector. The proposed interventions aim to further strengthen the Pashmina sector and promote its sustainable development in Ladakh.
The Joint Secretary (Fibre) appreciated and lauded the efforts of the Department in effectively implementing the ongoing schemes. She also appreciated the timely utilisation of the budget released for the implementation of various projects and initiatives under the programme.
