| Full Dress Rehearsal for Independence Day Celebrations Held at Kargil | |
Kargil, August 13 (Scoop News)- A full-dress rehearsal for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations was held today at Khree Sultan Cho Sports Stadium, Byamathang, Kargil.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kargil, Shabir Hussain, unfurled the National Flag in the presence of SP Kargil, Joint Director Finance, CPO Kargil, Tehsildar Kargil, and other officers and officials.
Male and female school contingents, NCC cadets and the Ladakh Police Band participated in the march past as part of the preparations for the 80th Independence Day celebrations.
Addressing the participants, the ADC appreciated the efforts of the contingents, students, participants and media personnel for their dedication and hard work. He extended greetings on the occasion of Independence Day and expressed hope for the successful conduct of the main celebrations on August 15.
He also urged students to learn about the lives and contributions of the freedom fighters who played a vital role in India’s freedom struggle.
Students from various schools presented colourful cultural programmes during the rehearsal. The ADC also reviewed the arrangements at the venue and took stock of other necessary preparations for the Independence Day celebrations.
