| CEC LAHDC Kargil Calls on Hon’ble Union Minister Kiren Rijiju | |
New Delhi, August 07 (Scoop News)-Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, Hon’ble Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Kargil, today called on Shri Kiren Rijiju, Hon’ble Union Minister for Minority Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs, at New Delhi and held a detailed and productive meeting on key issues of Ladakh, particularly the districts of Kargil, Drass and Zanskar.
During the meeting, the CEC prominently highlighted the issues faced by the people of Kargil, Drass and Zanskar, and urged the Union Minister to ensure that the region receives due attention and support under various schemes and programmes of the Ministry concerned.
Dr. Akhoon apprised the Union Minister of the unique cultural and educational needs of the region, and requested enhanced allocation and effective implementation of central schemes aimed at the welfare and empowerment of the people of Ladakh.
Key developmental and administrative issues concerning Ladakh, particularly Kargil and the newly created districts of Drass and Zanskar, were also discussed at length during the meeting.
The CEC underlined the need for continued central support in infrastructure, education and allied sectors to ensure balanced and inclusive growth across the region.
