Introducing the theme, Dr. Haribhau R Bhapkar, HoD Mathematics and NEP-2020 Nodal officer, welcomed the expert guest, Dr. Rishi Bhatnagar and said “The Department of Mathematics is continuously striving for academic excellence by organizing a wide array of programmes. Our initiatives include an Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Webinar, an Innovation Boot Camp, a Workshop on Mathematical Modelling, a Workshop on 'Mathematical Intelligence: AI Perspectives and Practices', International Conference on NEP-2020 etc.” Furthermore, the department is actively developing the BEIMI Mathematics Lab. Through which we aim to deliver a life-saving patented product—a 'Smart Oximeter and Ventilation System'—specifically tailored for people of J&K, Himachal Pradesh, and Ladakh. “We have already filed five copyrights through this lab.”
Dr. Rishi Bhatnagar, Chairman of Future Innovation Studio, in his lecture highlighted the contribution of Indian civilization to the world and emphasized its relevance to achieve the goals of Viksit Bharat@2047. He said “Every human being already uses AI every day — not on a screen, but in their daily activities through the subconscious mind. The subconscious works by recognizing patterns wired in the brain. Modern Artificial Intelligence is built on the exact same principle. NEP-2020’s call for ‘experiential learning’ is essentially activating this inbuilt AI of Bharat’s students.”
