CEO, Kargil Development Authority and Deputy Director Tourism Ladakh
review Swadesh Darshan 2.0 projects in Kargil


Kargil, May 29 (Scoop News)- Chief Executive Officer, Kargil Development Authority (KDA), Ghulam Mohammad, along with Deputy Director Tourism, Ladakh, Mohd Taqi, today reviewed the progress of tourism infrastructure works being developed under the Swadesh Darshan 2.0 scheme in Kargil district.

During the visit, the officers inspected the ongoing works at Kharul Sangam View Point and Hunderman LoC View Point being developed under the "Exploring LoC and Hunderman Village Experience" project. The review covered the physical progress of works, quality of execution and site requirements.

The visit was undertaken as part of the ongoing monitoring of tourism infrastructure projects under Swadesh Darshan 2.0 and in pursuance of the Ministry of Tourism's directions for regular review of sanctioned projects and expeditious implementation of works.

The officers stressed the need for timely completion of all project components in accordance with approved specifications and quality standards. Emphasis was also laid on effective coordination among stakeholders to facilitate smooth execution of the project.

The Deputy Director Tourism also emphasized the importance of timely submission of physical and financial progress reports, along with geo-tagged photographs, to facilitate regular updation of the Ministry of Tourism's project monitoring portal and processing of subsequent project requirements under the scheme.

The officers observed that the project is expected to strengthen tourism infrastructure in the border tourism circuit of Kargil and enhance visitor experience through the creation of improved tourism amenities and viewing facilities.

The officers were accompanied by the Executive Engineer, Kargil Development Authority, Accounts Officer, KDA and other officers of the Kargil Development Authority.
