| AIP Presses NHAI for Immediate Work on Khawaja Bagh–Khanpora Stretch | |
Srinagar, April 21 (Scoop News)-Awami Itihaad Party AIP Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi on Tuesday urged the National Highways Authority of India NHAI to take up immediate restoration of the Khawaja Bagh–Khanpora stretch in Baramulla which has remained in a dilapidated condition for years.
Inam Un Nabi said the absence of proper macadamization and reliance on repeated patchwork have failed to address the underlying damage making the road unsafe for commuters. He stated that potholes uneven surface and dust have severely disrupted the movement of vehicles and goods causing daily inconvenience to the public and losses to traders and businesses operating along the highway.
He added that the situation is particularly concerning as several key institutions including Government Women’s Degree College Government Girls Higher Secondary School Baramulla Public School Guru Nanak Dev Ji School and St Joseph’s School are located along this stretch. He said the presence of Government Medical College District Hospital and the Head Post Office further increases the urgency to ensure a safe and motorable road.
Highlighting the health impact Inam Un Nabi said that excessive dust due to the damaged surface is affecting residents students patients and pedestrians leading to a rise in respiratory issues. He termed the condition of the road as both an infrastructural failure and a public health concern.
The AIP spokesperson called upon NHAI to fix the Khawaja Bagh–Khanpora stretch on priority and start proper macadamization without delay. He said the people of Baramulla deserve safe roads clean surroundings and timely action from the concerned authorities. ... |
