| Chief Secretary Ashish Kundra interacts with public during Nyoma tour | | 
Leh, March 20 (Scoop News)-The Chief Secretary of the Union Territory of Ladakh, Shri Ashish Kundra, is on a three-day tour of the Nyoma Sub-Division to review developmental activities and interact with the public.
On the first day, Chief Secretary addressed a public gathering at Hemya village and interacted with public delegations. The delegations raised various issues pertaining to their villages, including the creation of a separate sub-division, NABARD-related matters, upgradation of PHC, construction of a youth hostel for students in Leh, and other developmental concerns.
Nambardars representing different villages and representatives of the LBA submitted memorandums highlighting their demands. Shri Kundra also visited PM Shri High School, Chumathang, where he interacted with students and teachers and addressed a public gathering. The Principal, Tsewang Dolma, raised concerns regarding staff shortage, hostel facilities, and other school-related issues.
Nambardars and village heads also presented memorandums highlighting local demands. Thereafter, the Chief Secretary visited the Intensive Fodder Development Farm of PGF Nyoma at Nidder, where he interacted with Pashmina artisans and addressed their concerns. He also distributed incentives such as predator-proof corrals, shearing machines, and charkhas among the beneficiaries.
During the interaction, villagers of Nidder, represented by the Nambardars, raised issues related to Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), inclusion of their village under the Vibrant Village Programme (VVP), telecommunication connectivity, and other developmental matters.
Self-Help Groups also requested exposure tours and additional support for livelihood activities. Shri Kundra also visited Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), SKUAST-K Nyoma, where he stressed the need for setting up a pasteurisation plant to support local dairy activities. He further visited PM Shri Higher Secondary School, Nyoma, where teachers and parents demanded the opening of a Commerce stream and improvement of hostel facilities.
The Chief Secretary also inspected PHC Nyoma, where doctors raised issues related to staff shortages, power supply, and infrastructure, and assured early resolution.
Following that, the Chief Secretary chaired a meeting with officers of various departments at the SDM Conference Hall, Nyoma, where he reviewed developmental works. He also addressed a public gathering at the SDM Office and discussed issues raised by the delegations, including land settlement, establishment of a degree College, issues related to the deputation of officers in various departments, electricity supply, funds under the Changthang Development Package, tourism promotion, and introduction of the Commerce stream in schools.
The Chief Secretary also addressed another public gathering at the Community Hall, Nyoma, where Nambardars from different villages highlighted issues concerning their respective areas.
The Chief Secretary was accompanied during the tour by the Deputy Commissioner Leh, Director General of Police Ladakh, Administrative Secretary Education, Bhanu Prabha, DCF Leh, former Councillors of Nyoma and Kungyam constituencies, Director Health, Superintending Engineer PWD, and other officers and officials of the concerned departments.
