Tamil Nadu CM increased from ₹12,000 to ₹15,000 monthly pension to Journalists
Chennai,March 14 (Scoop News)-Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin ordered a significant hike in the monthly pension for journalists in the state.
Key Details of the Hike:
Journalist Pension: The monthly pension for retired journalists has been increased from ₹12,000 to ₹15,000.
Family Pension: The family pension for the dependents of deceased journalists has been increased from ₹6,000 to ₹7,500.
Medical Insurance: The Chief Minister ordered that all journalists holding accredited identity cards be covered under the Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Medical Insurance Scheme.
Housing: Measures are being taken to provide house plots in Chengalpattu district for journalists through a newly formed cooperative housing society.
These decisions were made following a meeting between the Chief Minister and representatives of the Chennai Press Club at the Secretariat.
