Jammu, January 15 (Scoop News)-BJP Spokesperson and former Deputy Mayor Adv. Purnima Sharma on Monday lauded Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for demonstrating strong trust in Jammu by sending a sizeable youth contingent from Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh to participate in the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders’ Dialogue / 29th National Youth Festival 2026, held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
The youth contingent comprised 83 participants, including 52 students and young leaders from Jammu & Kashmir and 31 from Ladakh, selected after a transparent and competitive process at the district and UT levels. A flag-off function was held in Jammu, marking a moment of pride for the region as its youth were formally sent to represent their homeland on a national platform.
Adv. Purnima Sharma said the participation of Jammu’s youth in such a prestigious national event has highlighted Jammu as a centre of talent, aspiration, and leadership. “This initiative clearly reflects the Centre’s and LG Manoj Sinha’s trust on Jammu’s youth, who have repeatedly proved their capability, discipline, and commitment to nation-building,” she said.
She noted that the event, held at Bharat Mandapam, brought together young leaders from across India to deliberate on innovation, governance, culture, and the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047. Jammu’s youth participated in various tracks, including the Viksit Bharat Challenge Track, Cultural Exchange, and Innovation sessions, showcasing the region’s intellectual and cultural strengths.
Highlighting the inclusion of Ladakhi youth, Adv. Sharma said their participation alongside youth from Jammu & Kashmir reflects India’s unity and ensures representation of voices from border and Himalayan regions. “The presence of Ladakh’s youth strengthens national integration and sends a strong message that development and opportunity reach every corner of the country,” she added.
She further stated that such initiatives are transformative for young participants, giving them exposure, confidence, and a sense of responsibility. “Jammu today stands highlighted at the national level not for conflict narratives, but for contribution, capability, and confidence,” she asserted.
Concluding, Adv. Purnima Sharma said that under the leadership of LG Manoj Sinha, youth empowerment has emerged as a core pillar of governance in Jammu & Kashmir. “When the nation invests trust in Jammu’s youth, it strengthens Bharat’s future. These young ambassadors will return with new ideas, broader perspectives, and a deeper commitment to building a strong and developed India,” she said. ... |
