| Sacred flames of Lohri illuminate Dogra culture at Baba Kailakh: Sat Sharma | | 
Bantalab, Jammu, January 12 (Scoop News)-J&K BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP, Sat Sharma, accompanied by BJP General Secretary Baldev Singh Billawaria and other senior BJP leaders, today inaugurated the breathtaking Lohri Festival programme organized by the Baba Kailakh Nath Prabandhak Committee at the historic Baba Kailakh Devasthan, Bantalab.
The festival was organized under the leadership of Prabandhak Committee President Shakti Dutt Sharma, committee member Sunil Dutt Rakka and other organizers.
The Lohri Festival beautifully reflected the soul of Dogra culture, showcasing traditional Dogri music, folk dances, age-old customs associated with Lohri celebrations, authentic Dogri cuisines, and captivating Dogra presentations, including the much-admired “Hiran” performances. Renowned poet Randhir Singh Raipuria enthralled the audience by reciting powerful Dogri poems, adding a literary charm to the vibrant cultural evening. The mesmerizing performances kept the audience spellbound till the very end.
Addressing the gathering, Sat Sharma said that festivals like Lohri are the living symbols of India’s cultural unity in diversity. He stated that Dogra culture has a glorious history rooted in traditions, spirituality, and community bonding, and such events play a vital role in preserving and promoting this priceless heritage among the younger generation. He lauded the Baba Kailakh Nath Prabandhak Committee for consistently organizing culturally rich programmes that strengthen social harmony and cultural pride.
BJP General Secretary Baldev Singh Billawari appreciated the organizers for presenting Dogra traditions in such a grand and authentic manner. He said that cultural festivals not only entertain but also educate society about its roots and values, fostering a sense of belonging and respect for tradition.
Shakti Dutt Sharma explained that the Lohri Festival was organized to revive and celebrate Dogra traditions in their purest form. He said the programme aimed to connect people with their cultural heritage while offering a platform to local artists to showcase their talent.
The programme concluded with the traditional “Holy Fire,” where food products were offered as Ahuti to the Gods, followed by visitors relishing mouth-watering traditional Dogra cuisines, marking a spiritually fulfilling and culturally vibrant conclusion to the celebrations.
