| Police arrests drug peddler in Pulwama, contraband substance recovered | |
Srinagar, January 12 (Scoop News)-Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, police have arrested a drug peddler in Pulwama and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A police party of Police Post Newa intercepted a suspicious person during naka at Newa. During search, 1.120 Kgs of Poppy Straw was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Hilal Ahmad Wani son of Abdul Khaliq Wani resident of Ghat Tokna. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 04/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Pulwama and further investigation has been taken up.
Police continues its sustained drive against drug trafficking and appeals to the public to actively cooperate and share information to help safeguard the youth and society from the menace of drugs.
