PDP leaders recall visionary leadership of Late Mufti Mohd Sayeed
criticize NC Govt’s failures in J&K

RS Pura,January 07 (Scoop News)-Senior PDP leader Shri Narinder Sharma, along with Karan Bhagat, Constituency Incharge Suchetgarh, and Vicky Dogra, Constituency Incharge Bishnah, today addressed party workers and the public, highlighting the visionary leadership and lasting contributions of Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed towards peace, dignity, and development in Jammu and Kashmir. The leaders reiterated that Mufti Sahib’s legacy continues to guide the Peoples Democratic Party’s political ideology and its roadmap for a peaceful, inclusive, and prosperous J&K Union Territory.

The PDP leaders recalled that Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed ushered in a new era of healing touch governance, prioritizing reconciliation, human dignity, and people-centric administration. They stated that his policies aimed at reducing alienation, restoring public confidence in institutions, and ensuring equitable development across regions. Initiatives in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and rural development under his leadership laid a strong foundation for long-term stability and growth in Jammu and Kashmir.

Elaborating on the PDP’s roadmap for J&K UT, the leaders emphasized restoration of democratic rights, strengthening grassroots governance, and ensuring balanced regional development. They stressed the need for meaningful employment generation, protection of land and job rights for locals, revival of tourism and traditional industries, and a humane approach to governance that places people at the center of policymaking. The PDP leadership reaffirmed its commitment to dialogue, peace, and dignity as the only sustainable path forward for the region.

The PDP leaders strongly criticized the Omar Abdullah–led National Conference government for its failure to deliver on promises made during the election campaign. They said the government has failed on all fronts, including employment, price control, basic services, and governance reforms. According to them, the people who voted with hope are now feeling betrayed as the ruling dispensation has failed to translate assurances into action.

Narinder Sharma, Karan Bhagat, and Vicky Dogra further alleged that the NC government has changed its stance after securing the mandate, abandoning key commitments made to the electorate. They accused the government of adopting contradictory positions on crucial public issues, remaining silent on people’s hardships, and failing to assert itself in safeguarding the interests of Jammu and Kashmir’s residents.

The leaders also expressed concern over rising unemployment, unchecked inflation, worsening power and water shortages, and administrative inertia under the present dispensation. They said the lack of a clear vision and political will has deepened public disillusionment, while governance continues to drift without accountability or transparency.

Concluding their address, the PDP leaders reaffirmed that the Peoples Democratic Party remains steadfast in carrying forward the vision of Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed—a vision rooted in peace, justice, democracy, and inclusive development. They called upon the people to unite for the protection of their rights and dignity and assured that PDP will continue to act as a strong and responsible voice of the masses, committed to rebuilding trust, restoring democratic values, and shaping a better future for Jammu and Kashmir.
