| NC calls out BJP for Betraying Jammu people, Destroying Future of medical aspirants | |
Jammu, January 07 (Scoop News)- The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Provincial President Jammu, Rattan Lal Gupta, expressed grave concern over the withdrawal of permission granted to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence (SMVDIME) (Medical College) by the Medical Council of India (MCI), terming it a clear case of administrative failure and political apathy for which the BJP-led Central Government and the Lieutenant Governor’s Administration are solely responsible.
Gupta said the decision has jeopardised the future of hundreds of medical aspirants, including admitted students, pushing years of hard work, financial investment, and career aspirations into uncertainty due to incompetence and non-compliance by the authorities concerned. He stated that the SMVDIME (Medical College), once projected as a flagship institution for the Jammu region, has now become a symbol of the BJP’s anti-Jammu and anti-youth approach, exposing its hollow and divisive politics. The role and approach of BJP regarding this issue is very negative as they have divided the people in Hindus and Muslims which is dangerous for J&K and the nation specially in Education and Health.
He asserted that the withdrawal of permission is not a technical lapse but a systemic failure, reflecting the LG Administration’s inability to ensure basic compliance with MCI norms despite the BJP’s control at the Centre, and termed it an act of negligence warranting accountability.
Gupta further said the LG Administration has remained a mute spectator, showing disregard for students, parents, and patients, while allowing the institution to suffer due to bureaucratic arrogance and political interference, thereby deepening public alienation in Jammu and Kashmir.
He demanded immediate corrective measures to meet all MCI requirements, urgent restoration of permission to the SMVDIME (Medical College), and a comprehensive protection plan for affected students. Gupta made it clear that the people of Jammu will not forgive this betrayal and warned that compromising students’ futures and public healthcare will not go unanswered. ... |
