| Famous poet and writer Brij Nath Bhat ‘Hali’ passes away | |  Jammu, January 05 (Scoop News)- Well known Famous Kashmiri poet and writer Brij Nath Bhat 'Hali' passed away early morning today at his Bantalab residence in Jammu.He is survived by two sons and a daughter.
The late poet and writer Brij Nath Bhat ‘Hali’ was originally from Hawal village of Pulwama in South Kashmir.
Shri Hali was a highly respected figure in Kashmiri literature.
The news of the passing of the great social and religious scholar, Shri Brij Nath Bhat Hali, is extremely saddening.
He was recently honored with the Shan-e-Kashmir Award in 2023 (conferred in August 2024) by the Jammu and Kashmir Sakafati Markz, Budgam, for his significant lifelong contributions to Kashmiri poetry and literature.
He was Known for his evocative poetry, his works often reflected the cultural heritage and traditional values of Kashmir.
He was a featured guest on cultural programs such as Kong Posh on Doordarshan Jammu, where he shared his insights on Kashmiri poetry and literary traditions.
His poems are frequently sung by both Pandit and Muslim singers and are played on Radio Kashmir and Radio Sharda.
His death has been widely mourned by the literary community in Jammu and Kashmir
