| ADC Kargil Chairs Review Meeting for Preparations of Republic Day Celebrations | |
Kargil, January 02 (Scoop News)-The Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, Imteeaz Kacho today chaired a meeting today attended by various District and Police officers to review and finalize preparations for the upcoming Republic Day celebrations. During the meeting, the ADC took a comprehensive review of the arrangements to be made and responsibilities to be assigned to different Departments to ensure smooth and successful conduct of the event.
Detailed discussions were held from all perspectives. The Public Works Department (PWD), Power Development, Police Department, Tourism Department, Youth Services & Sports Department, Motor Garages and various other Departments were assigned a variety of tasks ranging from security, traffic management, catering, illumination of Government buildings, water supply, contingent management, cultural programmes, etc.
Arrangements related to seating, flag hoisting ceremony, band performances and other ceremonial activities were also discussed thoroughly. Several departments raised their respective issues during the meeting which were duly noted. Instructions were accordingly passed to address concerns such as proper lighting and infrastructure facilities.
Nodal officers were also appointed to ensure smooth coordination and execution of duties. It was informed that rehearsals for the Republic Day programme will commence from 20th January with a full-dress rehearsal scheduled on 24th January.
The ADC directed that the Public Address (PA) system and media coverage will be managed by the Information Department. Cultural aspects of the programme were also discussed wherein it was decided that three cultural performances will be presented by the Ladakh Academy of Art Culture & Languages. A team of anchors was also finalized. The School Education Department will also showcase performances by students apart from sending the march past contingents of various schools, it was added.
Various committees were also framed to ensure effective coordination among departments. Medical facilities will be arranged as per previous years. The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) was instructed to ensure availability of ambulances and other essential health services during the event.
The ADC further instructed that all officers should attend the Republic Day function in traditional attire and with immense fervour to promote and showcase Kargil’s rich culture.
All Departments were directed to work in close coordination and collective spirit to ensure the grand success of the Republic Day celebrations.
