Haj Committee of Ladakh organizes farewell for outgoing Chief Secretary


Kargil, December 25 (Scoop News)- The Hajj Committee, UT Ladakh, organized a farewell programme organised by the Hajj Committee, UT Ladakh, to felicitate the outgoing Chief Secretary, Ladakh, Dr. Pawan Kotwal, IAS, on the occasion of his superannuation. The event was attended by Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon; Mohd Hanifa Jan, Member of Parliament, Ladakh and others.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon congratulated Dr. Pawan Kotwal and his family and extended his best wishes for a successful and fulfilling post-retirement life. The CEC stated that under the leadership of Dr. Kotwal, the Union Territory of Ladakh witnessed milestone developments across various sectors. He said that while handling key departments such as Revenue, Health, Ecology, and Environment, the Chief Secretary discharged his responsibilities with utmost sincerity, dedication and integrity.

Dr. Akhoon further added that Dr. Pawan Kotwal played a crucial role in strengthening the administrative framework of Ladakh during its formative years as a Union Territory, leaving behind a lasting legacy of good governance and people-centric development.

Speaking on the occasion, Member of Parliament for Ladakh, Mohd Hanifa Jan, said that the foundation of UT Ladakh has been firmly cemented through visionary policies, initiatives and developmental works under the leadership of the outgoing Chief Secretary. He added that Dr. Kotwal would always be remembered by the people of Ladakh for his cordial, approachable and pro-people nature.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Secretary Dr. Pawan Kotwal expressed his gratitude to the Hajj Committee, UT Ladakh, for organising the farewell programme in his honour. He said that during his tenure in Ladakh, he received immense love, trust, and support from all sections of society. Dr. Kotwal reiterated that his vision for the development of Ladakh was widely accepted and appreciated by the people. He further stated that in whatever capacity possible in the future, he would continue to extend his experience and expertise for the welfare of Ladakh whenever required.

Chairman, Hajj Committee UT Ladakh, Mohd Ali Majaz, thanked Dr. Pawan Kotwal for attending the farewell programme. He said that the Hajj Committee Ladakh received immense support and guidance from the Chief Secretary in its overall development, which is both notable and commendable. He extended his heartfelt best wishes to Dr. Pawan Kotwal and his family, wishing them a healthy, peaceful, and fulfilling post-retirement life.
