| LAHDC Kargil declares winter vacation for schools from December 15 onwards | |
Kargil, December 14 (Scoop News)- A meeting regarding the declaration of winter vacation in Government and Private Schools of Kargil District was convened today under the chairmanship of the Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, at the Council Secretariat.
The meeting was attended by Executive Councillors Kacho Mohd Feroz, Aga Syed Mujataba, and Phunchok Tashi; Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC Kargil, Rakesh Kumar; the Chief Medical Officer (CMO); the Chief Education Officer, and other concerned officers.
After thorough deliberations, and keeping in view the prevailing weather conditions and health concerns of students, it was unanimously decided that winter vacation shall be declared in all Government and Private Educational Institutions, including Anganwadi Centres, across Kargil District.
Accordingly, winter vacation will be observed from 15th December 2025 to 10th March 2026.
However, this shall not apply to Class 10th and 12th students, for whom remedial classes will continue as per the existing arrangement.
