J&K Police seize vehicles not transferred after sale–purchase in Awantipora


Srinagar, December 12 (Scoop News)- J&K Police in Awantipora have intensified vehicle checking across the police district as part of an enforcement drive targeting vehicles operating without mandatory transfer of ownership after sale/purchase.

Checking teams were deployed at multiple locations, during which several vehicles found without proper documentation, without updated ownership records, or involved in rash driving were seized. Necessary proceedings under the Motor Vehicles Act have been initiated.

J&K Police urges all vehicle owners to promptly complete transfer-of-ownership formalities, avoid rash driving, and ensure all vehicle documents are kept up to date. Similar enforcement drives will continue in the coming days.
