Swachh Bharat Mission playing vital role in transforming rural landscape of J&K: Balbir

Jammu, December 12 (Scoop News)- Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary approach and the effective implementation of the Swachh Bharat Mission have turned cleanliness into a mass movement across the nation. In this direction, Jammu & Kashmir has achieved a historic milestone.

Sharing this information, BJP spokesperson and former Vice Chairman Balbir Ram Rattan said that 99.31 percent of the villages in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir have been declared “ODF Plus Model,” which is a unique example in the field of sanitation.

Balbir Ram Rattan said that according to official data released by the Ministry of Jal Shakti, out of a total of 6,216 villages in Jammu & Kashmir, 6,173 villages have now been included in the ODF Plus Model category. This achievement reflects the region’s commitment to cleanliness and the active participation of the public. He added that this success is clear evidence of the effectiveness and public welfare-oriented nature of the Modi government’s policies.

He said that the “ODF Plus Model” is not limited to the elimination of open defecation, it also includes solid and liquid waste management, preservation of a clean environment, and improvement in community behaviour.

Jammu & Kashmir has excelled in all these parameters, taking rural sanitation to a new level. This achievement is extremely important for the region’s health, environment, and overall development.

Balbir Ram Rattan said that due to the Swachh Bharat Mission, the standard of living in villages has improved rapidly. The dedication with which panchayats, self-help groups, and the administrative system have advanced this campaign is inspiring for the entire nation. He mentioned that the rural population has given new direction to the movement by making cleanliness an essential part of their daily routine.

Balbir added that all necessary efforts should be made to ensure that the remaining villages in the region also achieve ODF Plus Model status soon. The progress made so far is not only a matter of pride for Jammu & Kashmir but also shows how effectively the Modi government’s policies are bringing transformation at the grassroots level.

Congratulating all villagers, administrative officials, and sanitation workers, Balbir said that this success lays a strong foundation for the region and will create new opportunities for rural development in the coming future.
