| DHSJ reviews healthcare scenario in Jammu District | |
Jammu, November 28 (Scoop News)- Director Health Services Jammu (DHSJ). Dr. Abdul Hamid Zargar convened a comprehensive review meeting to assess the healthcare scenario and progress of the health programmes in Jammu District. The meeting, held in the Conference Hall of DHSJ, was attended by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Jammu, Dr. Ratesh Khullar; State Tuberculosis Officer (STO), District Tuberculosis Officer (DTO), all Block Medical Officers (BMOs) and officials from the District Programme Unit.
At the outset, the officials gave a detailed presentation on the status of key health indicators, ongoing initiatives, and programme-wise achievements. The review covered major national health programmes including NTEP, NHM initiatives, maternal and child health services, non-communicable diseases (NCD) screening, immunization coverage, communicable disease control measures and strengthening of infrastructure.
The DHSJ emphasized the importance of timely reporting, effective field monitoring and improved inter-departmental coordination to ensure efficient delivery of healthcare services.
Special focus was laid on enhancing outreach activities, strengthening diagnostic services and improving patient satisfaction across all health institutions of the district.
The Director also reviewed the functioning of health facilities at the block level and sought feedback from BMOs regarding manpower availability, logistics and operational challenges. Directions were issued to expedite pending administrative and programme-related tasks to ensure better service delivery at the grassroots level.
Appreciating the efforts of the district health administration, the DHSJ encouraged all officers and field staff to continue working with dedication and adopt a result-oriented approach for achieving improved health outcomes.
The meeting concluded with the DHSJ reiterating the department’s commitment to providing accessible, reliable and patient-friendly healthcare services to the people of Jammu District.
