| Nizam-ud-Din chairs Privileges committee meeting | |  Jammu, November 25 (Scoop News)-The Committee on Privileges of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly held here on Tuesday at Assembly Complex Jammu to discuss the matter related to constitutional privileges and protocol of Legislators.
The meeting was chaired by Committee Chairman, Nizam-ud-Din Bhat and attended by the members of the Committee including Javaid Riyaz (Bedar), Javaid Iqbal and Narinder Singh.
The committee underscored the importance of legislators and their constitutional rights and privileges.
It was also stressed for maintaining protocol to safeguard the dignity, autonomy and effective functioning of the elected representatives.
The Committee directed the senior officers of Hospitality and Protocol department to ask the GAD and Law departments to compile a detailed report on issues related to privileges and Protocol of legislators and submit the same to the Committee before it's next meeting.
The Chairman emphasized the significance of their constitutional rights and privileges on all appropriate platforms. He also stressed the need for a well defined strategy to safeguard the dignity and effective functioning of elected representatives.
Among others Under Secretary, Assembly Secretariat besides officers and officials of Hospitality and Protocol Department and Assembly Secretariat were present in the meeting. ... |
