| CEC Kargil Inspects Key Offices and Reviews Progress of Ongoing Infrastructure Works | | Kargil, November 25 (Scoop News)- Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, today conducted an extensive inspection of the office of the Superintendent Engineer, PHE/I&FC Circle Kargil, the surroundings of the Council Secretariat, and the under-construction Conference Hall and Canteen.
During the visit, the CEC reviewed the overall functioning of the PHE/I&FC office, ensuring that all sections are operating efficiently and that staff attendance is properly maintained.
He assessed the progress of ongoing works under the department and reviewed the availability, condition, and functionality of buildings, rooms, and staff strength.
Dr. Akhoon then inspected the surroundings of the Council Secretariat, where he expressed dissatisfaction over the accumulation of debris and boulders around the premises. He noted that such negligence by the executing agencies and contractors reflects a lack of seriousness after the completion of construction activities.
The CEC directed the concerned departments to immediately clear the debris and restore the area to a clean and organized condition.
During his inspection of the Council Secretariat Canteen, the CEC interacted with the contractor, who expressed concerns about inadequate facilities. Dr. Akhoon took note of the issues raised and assured that the canteen services would be re-tendered with all required facilities to ensure better functioning and improved service quality.
Further, the CEC visited the under-construction Conference Hall, where he stressed the importance of completing the project at the earliest without compromising the standards and quality of work. He urged the executing agencies to expedite progress while maintaining high construction quality.
Dr. Akhoon reaffirmed the commitment of LAHDC Kargil to strengthen administrative infrastructure, ensure effective public service delivery, and maintain transparency across all developmental works.
