Srinagar, November 20 (Scoop News)-Police in Shopian has further intensified its district-wide inspection drive targeting shops and establishments dealing with chemicals, explosives, fertilizers, hardware items, automobile workshops and other sensitive materials. The initiative is part of an ongoing effort to ensure regulatory compliance, proper record-keeping and effective monitoring of materials that could otherwise be vulnerable to misuse by anti-social elements.

During the inspections, shop owners were instructed to maintain detailed records of customers, including identification particulars, quantities purchased and the stated purpose of procurement. They were further advised to install functional CCTV cameras to enhance surveillance capacity and ensure complete traceability of transactions.

This strengthened inspection mechanism has played a vital role in tightening the district’s overall security grid, curbing the potential misuse of regulated substances and enhancing public confidence in the preventive measures being implemented.

J&K Police reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding public safety through regular inspections, community outreach and strict enforcement of all regulatory guidelines.
