| Chairman DDC Kathua reviews progress under District Capex Budget 2025-26 | | Kathua, November 18 (Scoop News)- Chairman District Development Council Col. (Retd), Mahan Singh today chaired a meeting of the Council to assess the physical and financial progress of works being executed under the District Capex Budget 2025-26.
The meeting was attended by DDC Vice Chairman, Raghunadan Singh; DDC members from Nagri, Billawar, Bani, Keerian Gandyal, Marheen, Gujjroo Nagrota, Dinga Amb and Barnoti, besides ADDC Surinder Mohan Sharma and district and sectoral officers.
At the outset, Chief Planning Officer Ranjit Thakur briefed the Council about the status of 1810 works approved under PRI, BDC, DDC, ABDP and APDP grants. The meeting was informed that out of 1810 works, 1633 have been allotted.
The DDC members emphasised the need to accelerate progress of works and ensure timely redressal of public demands. They also highlighted gaps requiring focused intervention for the effective implementation of schemes at the grassroots level.
The DDC Chairman called for coordinated efforts to create durable public assets within set timelines. He stressed on the need for close collaboration among departments to ensure quality outcomes for the benefit of the public. The DDC Vice Chairman also highlighted the importance of working in unison to improve service delivery and infrastructure across the district.
The ADDC Kathua called upon the executing departments to maintain close liaison with the Council members to ensure smooth implementation of the District Capex Plan.
The Council unanimously passed a resolution to place the demand for permanent restoration of public assets damaged due to August rains and floods.
The meeting concluded with acknowledgement of the dedicated efforts of the district administration and frontline staff during the recent spell of floods, cloudbursts and continuous rains, ensuring timely response and mitigation measures.
