| Government Polytechnic Reasi organized Nasha‑Mukt Abhiyan | | Jammu, November 18 (Scoop News)-Government Polytechnic Reasi organised various activities on the occasion of fifth anniversary of Nasha‑Mukt Abhiyan (Drug‑Free Campaign). The events were held as per the directions of Administrative Department, Skill Development, J&K and District Administration, Reasi under the theme “5 varsh 1 sankalp”, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to fostering a healthy, drug‑free environment for its students. The programme was organised under the supervision of the Principal, Er. Arun Bangotra, who emphasized the college’s resolve to continue the campaign’s objectives. A series of competitions was organized in collaboration with Social welfare department, Reasi to raise awareness about the adverse effects of substance abuse. In the Essay Writing Competition, twenty‑one students articulated their views on the causes, consequences and solutions to the drug menace. The first Prize went to Satyam Sharma, while second prize was shared by Arti Sharma, Simran Devi, Shallu Devi, and Meenakshi Devi and third prize went to Reetika, and Mandeep Singh. In Slogan Writing Competition, forty participants submitted catchy, impactful slogans aimed at mass awareness. The first Prize went to Diksha Devi, second prize to Shabnam, Sonika, Arun Dev Singh, and third Prize to Gaurav, Raveena and, Mahreen. In the Rangoli Competition, thirty participants created intricate designs symbolising a “Drug‑Free India”. The first Prize went to team of Arti Devi, Bandu Devi, and Khushi Kotwal, while 2nd prize was won by Tannvi Devi and, Tanvi Sharma and Third Prize went to Darshana Devi and, Nazia. The competitions were judged by faculty members Ms Vandana Sharma, Ms Esha Bhardwaj, Ms Akansha Sharma, Ms Ayushi Magotra, Ms Nisha Devi, Ms Sonika Attri and Ms Vaishali. On the occasion an Anti‑Drug Awareness Rally and online/offline Pledge was also taken by all the staff and students of the college led by Principal Er. Arun Bangotra. The students and staff marched through the campus and adjoining areas, chanting slogans to disseminate the anti‑drug message. The rally served as a visible pledge by the college community toward a drug‑free society. In his address, Principal Er Arun Bangotra motivated the students to adopt a drug‑free lifestyle, urging them to become active ambassadors of the campaign. He highlighted that true strength lies in making positive choices for physical and mental well‑being and praised the creative efforts of the participants. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by the Nodal Officer, Mr. Ajay Dogra, who commended the enthusiasm and creativity displayed by the participating students Other present on the occasion were Ms Shewta Sharma and Ms Ritu from Social Welfare Department, Reasi, College staff, Mr Himanshu Bakshi, Mr Anil Kumar, Mr Parshotam Singh, and large gathering of students of the college.
