District Admin Announces Ex-Gratia Relief for Victims of Waterwani–Mahawara Road Accident
Budgam, November 16 (Scoop News)-The District Administration Budgam has announced ex-gratia relief for the victims of the tragic road accident involving a Sumo vehicle and a dumper at Waterwani–Mahawara road in which four persons lost their lives and six others were injured.

The injured are currently undergoing treatment at various hospitals in Srinagar and Budgam.

Under the directions of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, an ex-gratia relief of ₹6 lakh each will be provided to the next of kin of the deceased, while ₹1 lakh each will be extended to the injured persons.

The District Administration expressed deep sorrow over the loss of precious lives and conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.

The DC assured that all possible support and assistance will be provided during this difficult time.

Meanwhile, Police Station Budgam has registered an FIR, and an investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances that led to the accident.

The District Administration has urged commuters to strictly adhere to traffic advisories and road safety norms to prevent such unfortunate incidents in the future.
