BJP celebrates 150 years of Vande Mataram at Doda and Kathua, Swadeshi Pledge taken


Jammu, November 15 (Scoop News)-In a historic event to mark the 150th anniversary of national song Vande Mataram, BJP District Doda hosted a grand celebration at the Old Bus Stand. This event was part of the nationwide programme launched by the Central Government and witnessed overwhelming participation from citizens across Doda.

Pawan Sharma, State Secretary, BJP J&K, praised the Doda district for its transformation from a conflict-affected region to a beacon of peace and unity. He acknowledged the pivotal role of Doda in echoing the patriotic fervor of Vande Mataram. He underscored the deep historical significance of the song during the Swadeshi Movement and the Indian freedom struggle, noting how it united the nation in the fight for independence.

Sharma also criticized NC, PDP, and Congress leadership for undermining national symbols and unity. He asserted that the people of Jammu & Kashmir were now more discerning than ever and fully understood the true motives behind such comments.

BJP District President Babu Ram Sharma highlighted that the event symbolized Doda’s unwavering commitment to India’s national identity and its enduring patriotic spirit. He remarked that the people of Doda are proud custodians of India's rich heritage and have always stood as a pillar of unity and national pride.

MLA Doda West, Shakti Parihar reflected on the powerful legacy of Vande Mataram as a symbol of national unity and an awakening call for independence. He encouraged the people of Doda to support the Swadeshi Movement, stressing the significance of economic self-reliance for a prosperous and sovereign India.

MLA Bhaderwah passionately spoke about the importance of protecting India's national symbols and the need to safeguard the civilizational pride embodied in them. He called on the people to respect and honor India's heritage, especially through the younger generations.

As part of the event, a Swadeshi Pledge was administered to all attendees, urging them to support locally made products, promote Indian industries, and contribute to the vision of a self-reliant India.

Prominent figures who attended the event included BJP District General Secretaries Rakesh Sharma, Sanjay Saraf, and Ashok Bhagat, DDC Chairman Doda Dhanantar Kotwal, Vice Chairman Sangeeta Bhagat, Program Co-Convenor Ramesh Chander Khajuria, Suresh Sharma, along with BJP Mandal Presidents, Mandal Prabharis, BDCs, and senior BJP leaders from District Doda.

Similarly, Sanjay Kumar Baru, senior leader of BJP accompanied by District Kathua President Updesh Andotra, and prominent ex-servicemen in presence of dozens of BJP activists and school children conducted a similar programme on Vande Mataram@150 at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park, Kathua.

Speaking on the occasion, Sanjay Baru narrated the historical significance of Vande Mataram and its importance in the contemporary world.

Updesh Andotra said that Vande Mataram is not just a song but the soul of our nation.
