Mission Director Reviews Implementation of Key HADP Components


Jammu, November 15 (Scoop News)-Mission Director, Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), Sh. Sandeep Kumar today chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the progress and implementation of various HADP components. The meeting was held at the Conference Hall, Directorate of Agriculture, Krishi Bhawan, Talab Tillo, Jammu.

The meeting was attended by Project Grounding and Monitoring Committees; Director Agriculture Jammu, Sh. Anil Gupta; Director Agriculture Kashmir, Sh. Sartaj Ahmad Shah; Director Horticulture Jammu, Sh. Gul Sayed; along with senior officers and representatives from the Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Sericulture, and Sheep Husbandry Departments (Jammu Division). Technical staff of the Mission Directorate HADP, representatives and Principal Investigators from SKUAST-Jammu were also present. HoDs and Officers from the Kashmir Division and SKUAST-Kashmir joined the meeting virtually.

During the meeting, the Mission Director reviewed the physical and financial achievements under various HADP projects implemented in both the public and private sectors. Major agenda points included action taken on decisions of previous meetings, submission of training calendars, status of farmer training programmes, and progress made under the Kisan Sathi initiative.

Sh. Sandeep Kumar directed all departments to fast-track implementation, strengthen inter-departmental coordination, and ensure effective execution of developmental activities under HADP. He conducted a detailed review of ongoing projects and instructed the concerned officers to strictly adhere to project timelines and objectives, with emphasis on improved project tracking mechanisms.

The Mission Director also stressed the importance of Research and Development (R&D) for developing improved seed varieties aimed at enhancing yield and productivity across the UT. He further highlighted the need for documenting success stories, which would serve as motivational examples for the broader farming community.

Earlier, the Mission Director visited the Centre of Excellence for Entrepreneurship in Precision Vegetable and Floriculture Farming at the Vegetable Improvement Scheme, Krishi Bhawan, Jammu, to review the progress of ongoing works. He inspected key facilities under development, assessed the implementation of project components, and emphasized timely completion to boost innovation and entrepreneurship in precision farming.
