Director Agriculture Jammu Reviews PMFBY Claim Settlement Progress


Jammu, November 13 (Scoop News)-Director Agriculture Production & Farmers Welfare, Jammu, Shri Anil Gupta, today chaired a meeting to review the progress of claim settlements for Kharif 2025 season under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) in Jammu Division.

The meeting was attended by Joint Director Agriculture (SLUB/Farms) Shri Aman Jyoti Sharma, Deputy Director Agriculture (Central) Shri Sanjeev Rai Gupta, SMS (Legal) Shri Santosh Bhat, State Project Officer PMFBY, Government of India, Shri Sunil Lakhotra, State Representatives of Reliance General Insurance Shri Mahavir Singh Rawat and Shri Vikram Jeet Singh, State Head Bajaj General Insurance Shri Sonu Kashyap, I/c PMFBY Section (DoA&FW Jammu) Shri Anirudh Bhat; along with senior officers and staff of the department.

Director Agriculture assessed both localized and yield-based claims under PMFBY in Jammu Division and instructed that all CCEs must be conducted using the CCE Agri Mobile App to ensure accuracy and transparency. While reviewing the yield-based Crop Cutting Experiments (CCEs), the Director informed that the experiments have been completed in most districts, and instructed that in districts where the process is still pending, it should be expedited on priority.

He emphasized the need for close coordination between insurance companies and the field functionaries of the Agriculture Department to ensure timely and transparent completion of CCEs. He assured the representatives of the insurance companies that the department would extend full cooperation in this process and informed that field functionaries have already been directed to carry out the work in a time-bound manner.

Shri Anil Gupta also reviewed the Mid-Season Adversity (MSA) cases and directed that the benefits under MSA be extended promptly to the affected areas so that no farmer suffers undue hardship.

Director Agriculture directed the insurance companies to expedite the settlement of claims and ensure that farmers receive due compensation for their crop losses without delay. He also reviewed the status of claims related to crop damages caused by the heavy rains in the month of August and stressed that no affected farmer should be left out of the claim settlement process.
