| Open discussion on upgradation of Govt School IBEX Colony to Model School by SED | |
Leh, November 13 (Scoop News)- An open discussion/meeting was held today on November 13 at DC Conference Hall in view of the upcoming upgradation of Government School, IBEX Colony to a model primary school among the officials of School Education Department and the parents. Present during the meeting were Administrative Secretary, School Education Department, UT Ladakh, Bhanu Prabha, Director, School Education Department, UT Ladakh, Tashi Dolma, Chief Education Officer, Leh, Deldan Angmo, Zonal Education Officer, Leh, Padma Dechan and other officials.
The Administrative Secretary thanked all the parents for putting their faith and entrusting the Department with their children’s education. She highlighted that in ensuring a school’s success everyone is a stakeholder and encouraged the parents to always give their input.
Furthermore, the Director, SED said that the Department will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that this school receives all the facilities under the government be it digital classrooms, infrastructure development and teachers who will focus on academic as well as holistic development of the each of the children.
Additionally, the Chief Education Officer stated that a School Management Committee will also be constituted for the smooth functioning of the school.
Briefing the parents about the upgradation of the School, National awardee Sonam Gyaltson assured the parents that as the Headmaster of the School, he will ensure that their children are provided with the best facilities and the best teachers. He laid down the framework of how the school will function and also presented a list of initiatives that he will inculcate in the school which includes subject specific teachers, transportation facilities winter school, teacher-student adoption, maintenance of student profile, vocational education, hot lunch, etc.
