| Director FCS&CA and Youth Services Ladakh Reviews Winter Ration | | Sports Projects During Three-Day Kargil Tour | Kargil, November 13 (Scoop News)-The Director of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) and Joint Director of Youth Services and Sports, Ladakh, Mr. Tahir Hussain Zubdavi, concluded a three-day official tour of Shakar Chiktan and Sodh blocks.
During the visit, the Director inspected various FCS&CA Sale Centers and reviewed the stocking position of essential commodities to ensure adequate supply during the forthcoming winter months. He also visited the sites of ongoing sports infrastructure projects under the Youth Services and Sports Department to assess the pace and quality of work. He directed the concerned officers to ensure that projects are completed within the stipulated time frame while maintaining quality standards.
As part of the outreach program, Mr. Zubdavi visited several remote and far-flung villages, including Pacharek, Gardagoo, and Chulichan, where he interacted with local residents and public delegations. The delegations apprised him of various issues related to food distribution, ration storage, and the development of sports facilities in their respective areas. The Director listened patiently to their concerns and assured them that all genuine issues would be addressed promptly.
The Director directed that three months’ ration be issued in advance to all beneficiaries residing in snow-bound and remote areas before the onset of winter where offline distribution mechanism is in place. This measure aims to ensure uninterrupted food supply during the months when road connectivity remains blocked due to heavy snowfall.
He also instructed the officers to make alternative transport arrangements where necessary and to coordinate with the district administration and transport department for advance movement of ration stocks to difficult areas.
To strengthen the distribution network of essential commodities, the Director directed that suitable land be identified for the construction of new Sale Centers at Chulichan and Hagnis Chortonchan. These centers will enhance accessibility, reduce travel distance for local residents, and ensure more efficient and transparent delivery of ration supplies.
The Director instructed field officers to process applications for new ration cards on a priority basis and ensure that left-out eligible beneficiaries are identified and included in the system without delay.
He emphasized that no deserving household should be deprived of essential food supplies due to administrative delays or incomplete documentation. Officers were directed to conduct village-level verification drives to identify and include all pending cases.
In his concluding remarks, Mr. Zubdavi reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring food security, sports development, and welfare of the people, especially those living in remote and border areas of Ladakh. He appreciated the efforts of the district officers and emphasized the need for strong coordination between departments to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
The Director was accompanied during the visit by: Mr. Abid Ali, District Youth Services Officer, Kargil, Accounts Officer, FCS&CA, Accounts Officer, Youth Services & Sports, Chief Inspector, FCS &CA Kargil, and Statistical Assistants.
