| Tehsil-Level Events Held Across Bandipora to Celebrate 150 Years of National Song ‘Vande Mataram’ | | Bandipora, November 09 (Scoop News)-As part of the ongoing celebrations marking 150 years of the national song ‘Vande Mataram’, the District Administration Bandipora organized a series of special programmes across all tehsil headquarters of the district.
The events, held in Bandipora, Sumbal, Gurez, Tulail, and Ajas, witnessed enthusiastic participation of officers, officials, students, and citizens.
The programmes were organized under the supervision of ACR Bandipora, SDM Sumbal, SDM Gurez, and respective Tehsildars in coordination with the Department of Education and other allied departments.
In Tehsil Tulail, celebrations were held at Dak Bunglow Badugam where Tehsildar Tulail, Javeed Ahmad Dar led the event along with Principal Higher Secondary School Badugam, Heads of various schools, students, and local citizens. The participants celebrated the 150 years of national pride ‘Vande Mataram’ with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour, highlighting the spirit of unity and pride that the national song evokes.
In Tehsil Gurez, a grand event was organized in collaboration with the Department of Education and other departments to commemorate the 150th anniversary of ‘Vande Mataram’. The event began with the playing of the national song, followed by speeches by students on its historical and cultural significance. A quiz competition was also held, and the winning team was awarded a trophy, symbolizing the district’s encouragement of youth participation in patriotic and educational initiatives.
Similarly, in Tehsil Ajas, a painting and slogan writing competition themed around ‘Vande Mataram’ was held at Government High School Ajas, Bandipora under the supervision of the Principal HSS Ajas and officials from the Tehsil Office Ajas. Many students participated in both competitions, displaying creativity and deep patriotic sentiment.
Across all tehsils, public functions, cultural performances, essay and quiz competitions were organized to honour the patriotic spirit of the national song. The celebrations aimed to foster community participation, unity, and national pride among the people of Bandipora.
Speaking at their respective venues, officers and dignitaries highlighted the historical importance of ‘Vande Mataram’ as a symbol of India’s freedom struggle and collective identity. They urged the youth to carry forward the legacy of national unity, patriotism, and cultural pride through active engagement in such commemorative programmes.
The District Administration Bandipora has planned a series of similar activities as part of the year-long commemoration of 150 Years of Vande Mataram, aimed at rekindling patriotic fervour and celebrating India’s rich cultural and historical heritage.
