Violation of Immigration & Foreigners Act; Police Books 03 Hoteliers in Ganderbal

Srinagar, October 24 (Scoop News)-Acting tough against violations of the Immigration and Foreigners Act, Police in Ganderbal under the supervision of SSP Ganderbal Shri Khalil Ahmad Poswal-JKPS carried out a comprehensive checking of hotels in the Sonamarg area.

During the inspection conducted by Police Station Sonamarg, it was found that three hotels — Hotel Mount View, Hotel Imperial Resort, and Hotel Village Walk were hosting foreign tourists without submitting their details to the Foreigners Registration Office (FRO) within the stipulated time period, as mandated under Section 17 of the Immigration and Foreigners Act 2025.

Taking cognizance of the violations, Police Station Sonamarg registered FIR No. 25/2025, 26/2025 and 27/2025 under Section 8/23(b) of the Immigration and Foreigners Act 2025 against the concerned hotel owners for non-compliance with the legal provisions.

J&K Police urge all hotel and guesthouse owners in the district, especially those hosting foreign nationals, to strictly adhere to the guidelines and ensure timely submission of guest particulars to the FRO to avoid legal action.
