J&K Police distributes sewing machines to NOKs of Martyrs & Women from BPL/AAY families

Srinagar, October 15 (Scoop News)-Continuing its commitment to community welfare, Police in Budgam organized a distribution event under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2025-26 at District Police Lines Budgam.

As part of the initiative to empower women and honour the sacrifices of martyred personnel, Police in Budgam distributed 40 sewing machines along with accessories to the Next of Kin (NOKs) of martyrs and beneficiaries from Below Poverty Line (BPL) and Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) families.

The event was presided over by SSP Budgam, Shri Nikhil Borkar (IPS), who handed over the machines to the beneficiaries in presence of DySP DAR Budgam and other officers.

Speaking on the occasion, SSP Budgam highlighted various community-oriented initiatives undertaken by J&K Police under CAP to promote self-reliance and skill development among women and youth.

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude to J&K Police for the initiative, acknowledging its role in improving livelihoods and strengthening community relations.

J&K Police reaffirmed its commitment to fostering public trust through continuous outreach and welfare-driven programs.
