Tourism Department, UT Ladakh Invites Bids for Two Key Tourism Infrastructure Projects in Mushkoo Valley | |  Kargil, October 13 (Scoop News)-The Department of Tourism, Union Territory of Ladakh has invited tenders from eligible agencies for the execution of two (02) major tourism infrastructure projects in Mushkoo Valley, Kargil, under the Challenge Based Destination Development (CBDD) Scheme, Sub-Scheme of Swadesh Darshan 2.0.
The details of the tenders are as follows: 1. NIT No. 37 • Name of Work: Selection of an Agency for Design and Execution of Physical Interventions in Mushkoo Valley, Kargil. • Project Value: ₹2,34,67,679.30 (excluding GST) • Earnest Money Deposit: ₹5,00,000 • Tender Fee: ₹5,000 • Completion Period: Ten (100 months for execution, with an additional two (2) years of O&M.
This project involves the creation of key tourism infrastructure such as wildlife viewing decks, roadside installations, signages, wooden benches and wildlife-proof dustbins to enhance the visitor experience in Mushkoo Valley.
2. NIT No. 36 • Name of Work: Selection of an Agency for Design, Supply, Installation, Testing, Commissioning (DSITC) and Community-Linked Operation & Maintenance of Cycle Sharing System in Mushkoo Valley, Kargil. • Project Value: ₹1,17,00,000 (excluding GST) • Earnest Money Deposit: ₹2,50,000 • Tender Fee: ₹5,000 • Completion Period: Ten (10) months for implementation with an additional two (2) years of O&M.
This project aims to set up a cycle sharing system with docking stations, promoting sustainable mobility and enriching eco-tourism in the region.
Interested and eligible agencies are invited to participate in the bidding process. The Tourism Department has informed that if interested bidders need any clarification, they may contact the Tourism Development Authority, Kargil.
While throwing light on both projects, Administrative Secretary, Tourism, Sanjit Rodrigues, IAS, said both projects will go a long way in boosting tourism in Kargil District in general and in the tranquil Mushkoo Valley of Drass in particular. He added that the Tourism Department is committed to development of sustainable tourism infrastructure and facilities in the Union Territory and that there is no dearth of tourism potential in the entire region.
