DIET Kargil Concludes Two-Phase FLN Training Programme | across All Seven Zones under NIPUN Ladakh |
Kargil, October 13 (Scoop News)-The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Kargil successfully conducted a Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) Mission Training Programme under the NIPUN Ladakh initiative, covering all seven educational zones of Kargil district. The training was conducted in two phases, with three-day sessions held in each zone, and concluded successfully with active participation from teachers, Key Resource Persons (KRPs), and zonal officers.
The primary objective of the program was to train FLN teachers in innovative pedagogical approaches to make teaching and learning at the foundational stage joyful, engaging, and contextualized, ensuring that every child achieves the desired learning outcomes.
The first phase of the training began on 23rd September 2025 with sessions for Zanskar Zone, followed by Drass, Chiktan, and Taisuru Zones, covering 180 teachers. The second phase extended the training to Sankoo, Kargil, and Shargol Zones, reaching over 190 teachers. In total, the program trained around 430 FLN teachers across all zones in a period of 21 training days conducted in different locations.
Prior to the zonal-level trainings, DIET Kargil collaborated with the 17000ft Foundation to train 45 Key Resource Persons (KRPs), who received capacity-building sessions at DIET Kargil on key aspects of FLN pedagogy, classroom strategies, and assessment methods. These KRPs subsequently facilitated the zonal-level trainings with enthusiasm and expertise, ensuring effective knowledge dissemination.
This program marked a significant milestone in advancing the NIPUN Ladakh Mission, aimed at achieving universal foundational literacy and numeracy. It empowered educators to implement child-centered pedagogies, strengthened classroom practices, and promoted collaboration between DIET, ZEOs, and school-level teachers for sustainable learning improvement.
The KRPs who contributed notably to both phases included Zakir Hussain Shah, Mohd Hassan, Shakeel Ahmed, Javeed Iqbal, Ilyas Ali, Mohd Sadiq, Mohd Ali, Zakir Hussain, Mohd Behasti, Farida Banoo, and Khairun Nissa, whose commitment and teamwork were instrumental to the success of the program.
This initiative stands as an outstanding example of collective effort and institutional partnership at the district level. The program’s success was made possible through the able guidance of the Principal DIET Kargil, the support of the CEO Kargil, ZEOs, KRPs, teachers, and the technical mentorship of the 17000ft Foundation.
Dr. Willayat Ali, Nodal Officer (NIPUN), DIET Kargil, who coordinated the program, extended heartfelt gratitude to all officers and stakeholders for their active cooperation and contribution in making the district-wide training a success. ... |
