Jammu, October 10 (Scoop News)-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Jammu & Kashmir, came down heavily on the NC-led coalition government, terming it a “government of lollipops, excuses, and failures.”

A hard-hitting press conference was addressed by Dr. Abhijeet Singh Jasrotia, Spokesperson, J&K BJP, accompanied by Adv. Parimoksh Seth, Spokesperson, and Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, Media Incharge, J&K BJP, at the party headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.

Dr. Abhijeet Singh Jasrotia took a sharp dig at Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, mocking him for abandoning the Budgam Assembly Constituency seat soon after winning it. He said that CM Omar Abdullah not only shed his Budgam seat but also his Kashmiri cap, a symbol he flaunted for political gain. After barely one year, he has left the people of Budgam feeling betrayed and leaderless, Dr. Jasrotia said.

Ridiculing the CM’s governance style, Dr. Jasrotia brandished actual lollipops before the media, saying that the NC government has made lollipop politics its trademark. Every promise in their election manifesto, be it jobs, LPG, electricity, or welfare schemes has turned out to be nothing but hollow lollipops to fool the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He further added that even the Deputy CM keeps talking about lollipops, and “in reality, their entire government is built on lollipops.”

Mocking the Deputy CM’s constant appearance in black goggles, Dr. Jasrotia quipped that Dy CM wears black goggles because he only sees darkness. He neither sees development nor does he wish to participate in any development work. We even brought him a pair of specs with lenses so that he could see the real issues of the people clearly, he said.

Tracing the NC’s “lollipop legacy,” Dr. Jasrotia said that this deceitful politics started with former CM Sheikh Abdullah, who first gave the lollipop of “making Pakistan,” and then ended up in jail at Nehru’s behest. “The second lollipop came in 1951-52 when, in connivance with Nehru, Sheikh ensured a disproportionate share of over a dozen Assembly seats to Kashmir, keeping power confined to NC. Then came the 1987 MUF betrayal, another lollipop to Kashmiri youth, pushing them into decades of disillusionment.”

He continued that for 32 long years, NC deceived the Shia community by not allowing the Muharram procession. They gave lollipops on water management by enacting an Act in 2010 but did nothing to implement it. Even during floods, the Omar government merely surveyed from helicopters while the people suffered. Daily wagers were fed the lollipop of regularization, yet their problems persist. In one year of rule, NC has delivered nothing except false assurances, he said.

Dr. Jasrotia challenged Omar Abdullah, saying that if he has the courage, let him hand over the governance of J&K to BJP for just one month. We’ll show him how real governance is done and how people’s issues are resolved. He accused the CM of misleading the public by constantly blaming the LG administration, while “many critical files are stuck in the CM’s office itself, choking development and public welfare.”

Adv. Parimoksh Seth further exposed the administrative paralysis, revealing that the files of appointment of Advocate General, Chairman of J&K Board of School Education, and promotions of engineers are all pending with the CM’s office. “The NC government made tall claims of providing 200 units of free electricity, 12 LPG cylinders, and regularizing daily wagers, but these remain unfulfilled promises. Roads across Jammu province are in shambles, and yet the CM sits idle, issuing excuses instead of action,” Sethi asserted.

Adv. Parimoksh added that except for law and order, every major department is under the Chief Minister, but he is doing nothing. The Omar-led NC government is surviving on hollow slogans, fake announcements, and photo-ops, while the people of Jammu and Kashmir continue to suffer, he said.

Dr. Pardeep Mahotra demanded immediate and time-bound action on all pending public welfare files and called upon the people of J&K to see through the NC’s “politics of deception, arrogance, and diversion.”
