| Div Com reviews Progress on Comprehensive Sewerage Scheme of Greater Srinagar | |
Srinagar, October 08 (Scoop News)-ivisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg, chaired a high-level meeting to review the progress of the Comprehensive Sewerage Scheme – Zone III of Greater Srinagar.
The meeting was attended by the Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC); Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar; Chief Engineer, KPDCL; Superintending Engineer, UEED; along with officers from R&B, NBCC, and the Revenue Department.
During the meeting, officials from NBCC presented a detailed status report on the project. It was informed that Trunk Sewer Line is 99% complete, Lateral Sewer Line is 100% completed, 60 MLD STP is 98% complete, Household connections have been fully achieved and 60 MLD Infall Pump Station is 100% complete.
It was directed that trial runs of the completed system shall be started on 16th October 2025, which would cover 2 out of the 3 zones of the city being taken up under the Project targeting a coverage of over 13000 households in all.
The meeting also discussed key challenges affecting the project, including the relocation of shops, realignment of PHE lines, and shifting of 11KV and 33KV power lines.
Emphasizing timely completion, the Divisional Commissioner called for swift resolution of all outstanding issues, including those hindering household connectivity. He also instructed the concerned departments to explore suitable land for the relocation of shops, which is essential for linking Sector-I to the main sewerage network.
The Div Com directed all executing agencies to ensure that the entire segment of the project is commissioned as per the scheduled timeline.
*Valley wide search operation conducted by SIA Kashmir in the Sleeper cell module case*
Srinagar, October 08 (Scoop News)-In continuation of its unrelenting efforts to crackdown the sleeper cell module, the State Investigation Agency carried out extensive searches at 08 locations across 07 districts across the Kashmir valley today.
The searches were conducted as part of an ongoing investigation of case FIR No. 01/2025 of Police Station CI/SIA Kashmir. The case is related to the sleeper cell module operating in the valley at the behest of terrorist commanders of proscribed terrorist organisations of Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad. The module is used for spreading secessionist propaganda thereby radicalizing and recruiting the youth into the terror fold.
Today’s search operation was conducted simultaneously across 07 districts across the valley from all the three ranges i.e., North, Central and South Kashmir. During the raids, substantial incriminating materials have been seized, and the suspects have been rounded up for further questioning.
Preliminary investigation has clearly brought out the active engagement of these entities in a terrorist conspiracy aimed at propagating and furthering anti-India narratives aimed not only at challenging the sovereignty and territorial integrity of India but also at inciting disaffection, public disorder, and communal hatred.
The searches highlight the continued and unrelenting efforts of the State Investigating Agency to ensure that the whole of the module is dismantled & with aim to strike at the roots of the terror ecosystem .
