Kargil, October 01 (Scoop News)-In a road checking drive held today around 9:30 AM near Iqbal Bridge, the Transport Department seized six stage carriage (public transport) buses under Section 207 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. These vehicles were found plying in violation of route permits (Section 192A) and were also carrying school children, contravening the Hon’ble Supreme Court Guidelines on student safety.

Authorities have warned that the checking drive will intensify from tomorrow, and if further violations are detected, the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) may suspend the route permits of defaulting buses.
