Tourism Department, LAAC&L, Kargil organize Interschool Painting Competition on Sewa Parv Campaign


Kargil,October 01 (Scoop News)-As a part of the Sewa Parv campaign, being celebrated nationwide from September 17 to October 02, 2025, to promote community service, cultural expression, and civic responsibility, the Tourism Department Kargil, in collaboration with Ladakh Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (LAAC&L) Kargil, successfully organized an interschool painting competition on the theme of this year's campaign "Viksit Bharat Ke Rang, Kala Ke Sang" (Colors of Developed India, Along with Art), emphasizing the connection between India's development and its rich artistic heritage.

The event was organized at Government Higher Secondary School Baroo Kargil today in which over 25 students from different schools participated, showcasing their artistic talents and creativity.

The students' paintings reflected the themes of the Sewa Parv campaign highlighting the importance of India's rich cultural diversity and traditions; environmental stewardship emphasizing the need for sustainability and conservation; women-led progress celebrating women's empowerment and contributions to society and community service depicting acts of cleanliness; sanitation; service; volunteerism and civic responsibility.

Meanwhile, on the sidelines of the painting competition, Tourism Department Kargil, in collaboration with Ladakh Academy of Art, Culture and Languages Kargil also conducted a wall painting exhibition near Gandhi Park Kargil, providing a public space for art and community engagement. Young artists from Team Stringmo brought to light themes related to cleanliness, sanitation, environmental conservation, progressive Bharat and promoting a cleaner India through art by means of their artwork.

The event concluded with the distribution of participation certificates and prizes to the winners and participating students, and the participants were encouraged to continue showcasing their creativity and talent in promoting the values of Sewa Parv.

Assistant Director Tourism/Special Officer for Cultural Activities, Kargil Muhammad Ali Tak and Principal Government Higher Secondary School Baroo Kargil Muhammad Hussain Aziz later presented certificates of participation and prizes among the participants.
