Govt ANM School Doda hosts awareness event to mark World Rabies Day 2025 | | Doda, September 29 (Scoop News)-To observe World Rabies Day 2025, a one-day awareness programme was organized today here at Government Auxiliary Nurse and Midwife School (ANMS) by the Integrated Disease Surveillance Project (IDSP) Division under the banner of District Health Society, Doda.
The awareness programme aimed to sensitize students and participants about the importance of timely vaccination, preventive strategies and the global efforts to achieve “Zero by 30” ending human deaths from dog-mediated rabies by 2030.
The programme was graced by Dy. CMO Dr. Sat Lal Manhas as the Chief Guest. Other medical functionaries present on the occasion included BMO Ghat, Dr. Abdul Gafoor, ANMT Principal Vidya Kotwal; Mohammad Shafi Attu (HE); Faculty members Azhar Iqbal Butt, Naveeda Anjum and Saima Kouser.
Demonstrator from GMC Doda and Incharge Rabies Section Dr. Anzar Majeed was the Guest Speaker. He delivered an insightful lecture and detailed presentation on rabies, highlighting prevention, control measures and community responsibilities.
In his address, Dy. CMO Dr. Sat Lal Manhas emphasized the importance of public awareness in combating rabies. He urged the participants to spread the message of timely vaccination, safe handling of animals and immediate medical attention after dog bites. He also appreciated the efforts of the IDSP Division for organizing the programme and sensitizing students and the community.
Principal ANMT, in her address, encouraged the students to act as ambassadors of awareness in their communities. She lauded the health department for choosing ANMT School as the venue for this important programme.
The programme proceedings were conducted by Faizan A. Tramboo, ensuring smooth coordination of the event.
