Dr. Pardeep expresses concern over rising Dengue cases, urges government action
Calls for intensified fumigation, cleanliness, and adequate medical supplies

Jammu, September 29 (Scoop News)-Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, Media Incharge, Jammu & Kashmir BJP, has expressed strong concern over the rising cases of Dengue and the casual approach of the J&K government and the administration in addressing the crisis.

Dr. Pardeep said that there have been regular reports of rise in number of Dengue cases and the situation needs to be taken seriously and urgent effective measures to be adopted.

While highlighting the most common symptoms of Dengue such as fever and headache, eye pain (typically behind the eyes), muscle, joint or bone pain, rash, nausea and vomiting, he said that if anyone has stomach or belly pain, tenderness, vomiting, bleeding from the nose or gums, vomiting blood, or blood in the stool and feeling tired, restless, or irritable, they must take medical consultations immediately, appealed Dr. Pardeep to the masses, to prevent the further spread of Dengue.

Dr. Pardeep Mahotra pointed out that despite repeated instances of Dengue outbreaks in the past, the concerned departments have failed to adopt stringent preventive measures on time. He termed it as unfortunate that every year the situation worsens, exposing the unpreparedness and apathy of the government machinery. He stressed that the health of masses cannot be compromised and called upon the administration to intensify fumigation drives, maintain cleanliness, and ensure the availability of adequate medical supplies in the health facilities.

Dr. Pardeep pointed out that drastic and sudden climate changes are also giving rise to the dengue as it creates more favourable conditions for mosquitoes and the virus. He said that the rapid unplanned urbanization and population growth, which lead to more breeding grounds and human-mosquito contact, increased human movement, including travel and migration, has added to the load, whereas the new challenges include urban garbage collections, insecticide resistance and lack of effective public health programmes and asked the government, health and the planning agencies to take cognizance of the matter on the long-term basis.

Dr. Pardeep further added that public awareness campaigns should be launched at the community level to educate people about preventive steps, such as avoiding stagnant water accumulation and using protective measures against mosquito bites. He said that the government must not wait for the situation to spiral out of control but act swiftly to contain the spread of Dengue and provide timely relief to the affected.

Dr. Pardeep appealed to the administration to work in coordination with local bodies, health institutions, and community organizations to tackle the challenge effectively.
